Marking your brush pile while fishing:

With over 20 years of fishing offshore on lakes through Texas I have learned that buoy markers are a valuable tool to all fishermen.

Brush piles can at times be a great place to locate loads of fish. Rather you are fishing brush you put out or some brush you found, it is best to mark the brush when fishing it to insure you hit the brush on each cast.

When you graph over you brush pass it about 20 feet before you place out your WayPoint Marker. Then turn around and move the boat out to where the brush is between you and the marker, this will help you insure every cast is in the sweet spot (critical area).

Placement of the marker on the back side also insures that you do not get a fish wrapped up in the marker line which can lead to you loosing your fish.

PRADCO bass fishing pro Jimmy Mason of Rogersville, Alabama explains the importance and functionality of marker buoys. Jimmy lists them as one of the most important pieces of equipment he couldn't be on the water without having them in his boat!
